Tamworth Accountant propelled from trainee to director

A Tamworth accountant has propelled himself from trainee to director level in under ten years after generating seismic levels of business.

Nathan Robinson, aged 33, has been promoted from Portfolio Manager to director at Baldwins Accountants on Ventura Park Road after originally joining the business in December 2007.

The promotion comes off the back of a stellar year of trading, where Nathan generated around £350,000 worth of fee income from more than 150 Midlands-based SME clients across the public and private sectors.

After joining the business as a trainee accountant, Nathan progressed to an accountant before becoming a Senior Accountant and then a Portfolio Manager.

In his new role, Nathan will work alongside existing Tamworth directors David Baldwin, Paul Clifford, Robert Cockle and Mark Meredith in managing the office’s 40 staff while maintaining client relationships.

Nathan said: “From the day I joined the business I set myself the long-term goal to become a director by the time I was 35, so I’m really proud to have achieved that aim early.

“I have always tried to push myself as hard as I can with servicing clients beyond normal working hours – even when I’m on holiday I’d much rather prefer to spend a short period of time at the end of the day responding to emails.

“Not only are our clients relying on us for financial advice, but they are increasingly seeking added value and advice relating to other business aspects such as HR and law, which we can then either advise on internally or refer to our network of contacts.”

David Baldwin is also a director at Baldwins in Tamworth, and has overseen Nathan’s progression.

He added: “Dedication and work ethic are two values that are extremely important to us at Baldwins, and Nathan has demonstrated those in abundance over the years.

“Our Tamworth office has seen increased levels of consistent growth, which is being driven by a very talented and hardworking team offering diverse expertise.

“I’m looking forward to working with Nathan alongside our other directors to grow our client base and develop our existing workforce even further in the future.”
