Senior Promotion in the South West
A specialist accountant with extensive experience of the audit sector has been promoted at a leading UK business advisory group.
Lauren Jones is now Senior Manager at the Cardiff office of Baldwins Group in Dunleavy Drive and will continue to focus on forensic accounting and corporate finance.
She started her career on an ACA graduate training programme in the corporate sector and qualified while she was working at BDO LLP in London where she was part of the technology, media and telecommunications audit team.
After being promoted to Manager of the Professional and Audit team, Lauren gained international experience by regularly travelling to India on client business before moving back to her home city of Cardiff to join the Baldwins Forensic Accounting and Corporate Finance department in October 2017.
As part of Baldwins’ UK-wide Forensic Accounting team, Lauren is involved in quantifying damages in civil litigation cases and valuing businesses on divorce through to investigating alleged fraud.
Lauren has vast audit experience working with SMEs and large clients in the private sector, analysing complex financial information and reviewing clients’ financial systems and procedures to identify weaknesses and propose changes.
She has advised clients in a variety of sectors on the reporting of complex financial accounting transactions including the implementation of new share option schemes, the buying and selling of shares or trade and assets, and the disposal of businesses.
Lauren, who is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, said it was great to be part of a business which is constantly evolving.
“I am really enjoying forensic accounting and corporate finance and it is a complete change to the areas I have focused on earlier in my career,” she said.
“It is really interesting working on advisory pieces where every project is new and I can bring all my experience together to help our clients.
“It is a great time to be part of the Baldwins Group since we are becoming more established throughout the UK.
“The business is growing organically as we add new offices which also provides opportunities to expand our added-value services, such as forensic accounting, across the UK to new clients.”
Tanya Wilson, Joint Head of the Forensic and Litigation Team at the Baldwins Group, said Lauren’s promotion was fully deserved.
“Since we launched Baldwins Forensic Accounting throughout the group earlier this year, the demand for our services has steadily grown,” she said.
“Lauren’s expertise and commitment shines through every day in this specialist area as we help businesses to save on legal costs by looking at alternatives to solve disputes.
“With the help of Lauren and the rest of the team, we are establishing a reputation as a leading regional provider of forensic accounting services across the UK.”
Baldwins has more than 80 offices across the UK and is part of the CogitalGroup – an international business services group with annual revenues in excess of £450m, employing around 6,000 people across 176 offices.
