Further expansion in the South West with Cheltenham based firm
The Cheltenham based accountancy firm Davies Mayers Barnett, has joined forces with one of the UK’s rapidly-growing practices.
Davies Mayers Barnett on Bath Road Cheltenham are the latest practice to join the South West Region of Baldwins Accountancy Group. This continues on their success in the region over the past 12 months taking the regional count up to five offices as part of their strategic expansion plan.
Shaun Knight, Director at Baldwins, said: “Cheltenham is a fantastic place with a thriving business community, and this latest investment in the town with Davies Mayers Barnett joining the group, this shows our commitment to the local area.
“The 70-strong business, with annual revenues in excess of £3.5 million, has joined Baldwins, one of the leading accounting tax and advisory firms, which is part of the Cogital Group. Baldwins has an annual turnover in excess of £90 million and employs over 1,500 people.
Tim Davies, senior partner at Davies Mayers Barnett, said this was a perfect fit for both businesses.
He said: “This year we are celebrating our 25th anniversary and it seems appropriate that we are now starting a new era in our history.
“Baldwins is a forward-thinking organisation, which is strategically expanding into all areas of the UK and we are excited to become part of their gateway from the Midlands to the South West.
“We will retain our individual culture and ethos, and client focused personal partner led service, but we will now be able to offer our clients a wider range of services and access to industry specialists.
“We are particularly looking forward to working with their banking and finance team to support the business growth of our clients.
“This is a great opportunity to grow our business, which will be enhanced by the investment capacity and specialisms within Baldwins. We already have an excellent team of professionals here at Pillar House and we will be aiming to increase recruitment to push forward and achieve our growth plans.”
Shaun Knight, said the long-term vision of Davies Mayers Barnett was identical to Baldwins.
“A decision was taken at board level to grow the business throughout the UK and this is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the local business community,” he said.
“Davies Mayers Barnett has a strong team of partners and directors making up their senior management team and has built a great reputation not only in Cheltenham, but throughout Gloucestershire and its neighbouring counties over the last 25 years.”
“Our support and investment will benefit their clients, since we will be able to provide assistance in strengthening the quality and range of services they offer, which will help both businesses to expand.”
