QUALIFIED ACCOUNTANT – CARDIFF

We are seeking an ambitious, high calibre Qualified Accountant to join our growing team in our office based in Cardiff Bay. This person would be someone who has experience of working in practice, has exposure to the essential elements of client service management and delivery and who also has ambitions to progress within the company.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Qualified Accountant, you will be required to:

  • Prepare accounts for limited companies from trial balance stage, as well as sole traders and partnerships from primary records
  • Manage client expectations and meet deadlines and budget constraints
  • Be a point of contact for clients
  • Report directly to a Senior Manager/Partner
  • Able to organise staff subcontracted to or working for them and the ability to appropriately train staff
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
  • Scope to network and introduce contacts to firm / portfolio for client service purposes
  • Demonstrate commerciality and apply it in delivering services
  • Knowledgeable of firm’s services and able to cross sell the services into the client base
  • Able to deliver (with expert resource assistance) rounded compliance and service to clients
  • Demonstrate the potential to be a future portfolio manager

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Qualified ACCA/ACA or QBE with previous experience of working in practice
  • Broad range of experience dealing with all aspects of limited companies in particular, as well as sole traders and partnerships
  • Technically sound in Accounting, VAT, Corporation Tax and Personal Tax in order to manage the service delivery effectively
  • Solid and proven financial management skills (WIP and budget control)
  • Working knowledge of Sage Line 50, Sage One, Xero and Microsoft Excel essential
  • Working knowledge of CCH desirable
  • Good in- firm communication skills to support other team members supplying services to their clients
  • A proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and delivering client solutions
  • Possess strong team management skills
  • Demonstrable ability to take responsibility and use own initiative
  • Full, clean driving licence as some work may require travel
